The Division of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) administers comprehensive processes for maintaining the University’s accreditation, external data reporting, planning, assessing, evaluating assessment results, and documenting improvements that result in continuous quality enhancements in all the University’s academic programs and organizational units. The Division includes the offices of the Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness (AVPIE), Office of Academic Assessments (OAA), Institutional Research (IR), and Strategic Planning and Analysis (SPA).
The Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness serves as the University liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the University’s regional accreditor, and monitors all communications to that organization and channels them through the University President to the President of SACS.
The Office of Academic Assessments administers the process of assessing student and program learning outcomes, coordinates academic program review, and maintains an updated repository of the University Master Course Outlines.
Strategic Planning and Analysis administers the University planning processes, monitors progress on planning initiatives, and supports the assessment of administrative outcomes.
Institutional Research governs and performs the collection, validation, analysis, and dissemination of official University data and information in support of external reporting and internal decision making.
Institutional Research administers the major University internal and external surveys including the End-of-Course Evaluations.
