Orientation Mission Statement

Orientation is designed to create a welcoming, caring environment for new students and parents. Educational and social programs and services are aimed at integrating new students and parents into university and campus life and easing the transitions and stresses associated with starting college.

Dear New Student,

Welcome to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University!  As the newest member of our community, you are probably excited and a bit nervous.  You may also have many questions about the university and your new role as an Embry-Riddle student.  We have designed a special time for you to ask questions and get answers so your transition to our campus is a fun-filled and hassle-free experience.

Attending New Student Orientation is an important first step in maximizing your success as a student at Embry-Riddle. In fact, we feel it is so essential that we have made participation a requirement for all new students.

A staff of undergraduate students has been carefully selected and trained to help you through your campus orientation process. You will receive the complete schedule of events when you arrive.    New Student Orientation will provide you with a chance to:

  • Meet other new students and develop friendships
  • Meet faculty, staff and student leaders
  • Attend sessions to learn about our campus community and its many resources
  • Tour the campus
  • Register for semester classes

Students who have attended New Student Orientation in past years have told us the program is most beneficial and provides the basis for a smooth transition to campus life.  We trust that you will feel the same way!
