Michelle Lucas Ham

Michelle is a 2001 graduate of the Communication degree program with a specialization
in Space Studies.
From an early age her dream was to become an astronaut and work at NASA.
Her first professional job was at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, working
as a technical writer for the Safety, Reliability, and Quality Assurance (SR&QA)
contract for a company called SAIC. In this job she became very
familiar with space shuttle and space station systems.
Next, she worked for another subcontractor as Flight Controller/Ops Planner
for the International Space Station. She was part of a group that built
and integrated all the timelines for execution by the space station
crew. Ops Planners are also responsible for all the messages
and procedures that the crew requires. She's been to Russia twice to to
create timelines and to assist in crew training.
Michelle is also a member of the
NEEMO (NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations) Team. NEEMO takes astronauts to Key Largo to live in the world's only undersea research
habitat, Aquarius, for training.

Ashley Moore
Ashley graduated from Embry-Riddle's
Communication program in 2005 and now works in the public relations sector.
Moore began her professional career in Alexandria,Va., as an associate editor
of Professional Pilot Magazine.
"(Embry-Riddle) was everything I was looking
for in a school and it just happened to
have a major that would help me pursue a
career in journalism or public relations/communication.”
“While at Embry-Riddle I did partake in an
internship.… I learned a lot about the business
world and was able to make the ‘rookie’
mistakes there instead of at my ‘real’ job. The internship
also looked fabulous on my resume and
helped me to land my first publishing job .…
I was involved with a lot of extra-curricular
activities during my tenure at Embry-Riddle
and every one of them helped prepare me for
my job at Professional Pilot Magazine.”
