Student Life
STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
The Student Government Association (SGA) serves all students and represents
the student body to university administration. The SGA is composed of
the Student Representative Board, the Student Finance Board, and the
Student Court. The Avion newspaper, Touch-N-Go Productions, and WERU
campus radio are all divisions of the SGA.
The Executive Branch of the SGA - is made up of the SGA
president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and chief justice.
The president acts as the primary representative of the student body
to the university and to the community, as well as serving as a voting
member of the Embry-Riddle Board of Trustees. The vice president assists
the SGA president and serves as chairman of the Student Representative
Board.
The Student Representative Board - is the policy and decision-making
body of the SGA. Members represent student interests and viewpoints
to the SGA president, university officials, and campus committees. Members
are representatives from all academic disciplines, an international
student representative, and a campus and housing representative.
The Student Court -is the branch of the SGA that hears appeals
involving traffic and parking violations, personal disputes between
two or more students, and cases referred by the university judicial
officer or the Student Services office. The Student Court interprets
all SGA bylaws, guidelines, and the constitution. Court members include
a chief justice and associate justices.
The Student Finance Board - is the financial decision-making
body of the SGA, and is responsible for the overall budgetary process.
The board reviews and approves all clubs' and organizations' requests
for funds. Membership consists of six students and is chaired by the
SGA treasurer.

Avion Newspaper
- is published weekly during the fall and spring semesters and bi-weekly
during the summer sessions. The newspaper is a student-run enterprise
and is free to all students, faculty, and staff. Members of the Embry-Riddle
community may also place free classified ads. The Avion is an award-winning
publication and student volunteers are always welcomed.
Phoenix Yearbook - is published annually by volunteer staff.
Each student may reserve a copy of the book by notifying a member of
the Phoenix staff. The Phoenix is an award-winning yearbook and student
volunteers are encouraged to participate in this publication.
Touch-N-Go
- organizes and sponsors concerts, movies, comedians, musical groups,
lectures, and other campus activities. Most of these activities are
free of charge and open to the entire university community. Student
volunteers serve as stage crews, promoters, security technicians, and
in other staff capacities needed to coordinate special events. Call
or stop by the office if you would like to get involved.
EaglesFM - The radio station broadcasts at 104.7 FM, seven days per
week on the Daytona Beach campus as well as online at http://www.eaglesfm.com and at 99.1 off-campus in the Daytona Beach area. Weekly meetings and training sessions
are conducted and all students are invited to get involved.
