Dr. Seth Young
Teaching Airport Program Director



Dr. Seth Young is the founder and current director of The Teaching Airport.  Dr. Young is an Associate Professor in the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with teaching and research interests in airport operations and management.  Dr. Young has more than ten years' experience in the field of airport operations, planning, design, safety and security. 

Prior to joining the faculty of Embry-Riddle in 1998, Dr. Young was an airport management consultant with Leigh Fisher Associates in San Mateo, Calif.  Dr. Young has worked directly with the National Safe Skies Alliance on airport security research issues, and with the American Association of Airport Executives as an on-site airport security-training specialist.

Dr Young holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, is co-author of Airport Planning and Management, the industry's leading Airport Management Text, and is a licensed instrument-rated commercial pilot (ASEL).

Michael Masscotte
Technical Systems Administrator
Teaching Airport Weather and Flight Tracking Information Kiosk

Michael Mascotte is the technical systems administrator for the Teaching Airport's Weather and Flight Tracking Information Kiosk.  Mr. Mascotte was a key player in the development of the Kiosk as an undergraduate assistant in the ERAU College of Aviation's Advanced Aviation Meteorology Center.  Currently, he is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of Kiosk operations and capabilities.

Mr. Masscotte is from Halifax, Mass. He earned a B.A. in Applied Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics in December 2003, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Embry-Riddle. His interests include music recording, motorcycle road racing, and flying.


Christian Albertson
Web Programmer


Christian Albertson is the Teaching Airport's Internet Web site programmer.  Christian, from Denver, Colo., is a senior, majoring in Aviation Business Administration at Embry-Riddle's College of Business, with a planned graduation date of December 2006.  Christian's interests include rebuilding classic cars (he's currenty working on a 1968 Triumph Spitfire), riding motorcycles, and collecting sports memorabilia (particulary Barry Sanders NFL cards).





 




Leonard Antico
Kiosk Ambassador



Leonard Antico is one of our Teaching Airport Weather and Flight Tracking Information Kiosk Ambassadors, providing information and assistance to visitors to the kiosk at the Daytona Beach International Airport.  Leonard, from Whippany, N. J., is a senior majoring in Aviation Business Administration with a concentration in Airline Management, within Embry-Riddle's College of Business.  Leonard is the current vice president of the ERAU Student Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).  Leonard's interests include skiing, flying, and golf.  Upon graduation in May of 2006 Leonard's goal is to become involved in transportation consulting.





Daniel Compton
Kiosk Ambassador




Daniel Compton is one of our Teaching Airport Weather and Flight Tracking Information Kiosk Ambassadors, providing information and assistance to visitors to the kiosk at the Daytona Beach International Airport.  Daniel, from Livonia, Mich., is a second-year graduate student in the Master of Business Administration in Aviation program in Embry-Riddle's College of Business.  His interests include aviation photography, hockey, and music.


 





Pratish Ganabathi
Kiosk Ambassador



Pratish Ganabathi is one of our Teaching Airport Weather and Flight Tracking Information Kiosk Ambassadors, providing information and assistance to visitors to the kiosk at the Daytona Beach International Airport.  Pratish, from Clarion, Penn., is a second-year graduate student in the Master of Business Administration in Aviation program in Embry-Riddle's College of Business.  His interests include music (Pratish is an accomplished guitarist), programming and operating Flight Simulators, and traveling.

Michael Gernant is one of our Teaching Airport Weather and Flight Tracking Information Kiosk Ambassadors, providing information and assistance to visitors to the kiosk at the Daytona Beach International Airport.  Michael, from Scarsdale, N.Y., is a senior majoring in Aviation Business Administration with a concentration in Airport Management, in Embry-Riddle's College of Business.  Michael is the current president of the ERAU Student Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), Michael's interests include traveling, boxing, and financial investing.
