Fast FactsWhen should an application be submitted to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University? Applications are accepted up to one year prior to the intended entering semester. All applicants are encouraged to send applications and credentials as early as possible. Early applicants increase their chance of admission to competitive programs and can enhance the probability of locating a residence hall room. When will I receive an admissions decision? After an application for international admission is received and complete with all required credentials and documents, an admission decision is usually sent within three weeks. How are international admissions’ decisions made? Admission decisions are based on an applicant’s academic credentials and proficiency in English. For an applicant who requires a student visa, the ability to finance his or her education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is also considered. If a student is academically admissible to a degree program, the admissions committee then determines how academically strong the student is compared to other applicants. Is the Scholastic Assessment Test or the American College Test required for freshman admission? No, it is not required for international students; however, it is highly recommended that all freshman applicants take the examination. High scores will enhance the student’s chance of admission. Also, an SAT or ACT score is required to be considered for the Embry-Riddle Scholarship Program. Does the university require original documents? All documents, including transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores and bank statements, must be originals or notarized copies. In addition, notarized or attested English translations of foreign transcripts are required. Facsimiles (fax) or photocopies are not acceptable. What happens once I am admitted? You will need to complete and return a matriculation form and a U.S. $200 tuition deposit by the reply date specified in your letter of admission. If for some reason you are denied a student visa, your $200 will be refunded in full. Do I have to take the TOEFL? There are some cases in which the TOEFL exam will be waived. They
include: Are there any special health issues for International Students? Before you leave home, make sure you have been immunized for measles, mumps and rubella. Bring physician-certified copies of your immunization records with you and deliver them to the Office of Health Services when you arrive. The Health Services office will provide additional information once you have been accepted. International students are required to carry health insurance during their enrollment at Embry-Riddle. The university offers international student health coverage that covers most illnesses and injuries. What should I expect when I go to apply for my visa? In most cases the interview will be very brief. Are you able to pay the expenses of attending the university? Do you have definite plans to return home when you graduate from
Embry-Riddle? I am an F-1 student and want to work on the campus. Is this okay? F-1 students holding a valid Embry-Riddle I-20 and enrolled in classes are eligible to work on the campus.
