Tim BradyEducational Administration:  
Dr. Brady's current position is Professor and Dean, College of Aviation, at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach.  He formerly was Associate Dean of the School of Aviation and Chairman of the Applied Aviation Sciences Department at ERAU, Daytona Beach (1998-1999).  Other prior positions include Chairman of the Power and Transportation Department (Aviation Department) at Central Missouri State University (1991-1998) and Dean of Institutional Advancement and External Programs  at Parks College of St. Louis University for 11 years (1980-91).

o:p>Currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Council on Aviation Accreditation, he is also the Chairman of its Accreditation Committee. He was president of the University Aviation Association (1993-94), and was an accreditation team member for the New England Association of Schools and Col­leges. He has both led teams and been a team member for the Council on Aviation Accreditation on six campus visitations.

Other Experience:

  • Active duty with the U.S. Air Force (1958-1980); dual rated as a pilot and navigator
  • Began service as an enlisted man and technician (radio repairman) and was commissioned as an officer through Aviation Cadets (1960) 
  • Flew the C-130 aircraft for 20 years 
  • Twice decorated in combat (Vietnam) with the Distinguished Flying Cross plus many Air Medals 
  • Currently holds the Air Trans­port Pilot (ATP) rating (multi and single engine with com­mercial privileges) 

Education: Ph.D. in Education (Higher Education Administra­tion), St. Louis University, 1986.  Master of Science Degree, (Management) Abilene Christian Univer­sity, Abilene Texas, 1976. Bachelor of Science Degree, Troy State University Mont­gomery, Alabama, Major: Social Science.  Minor: Busi­ness.  Honor Society: Alpha Sigma Lambda, 1974.

  • Published author of more than 30 articles 
  • Editor of a respected safety magazine 
  • Author of a "How To" monograph for editors of specialized magazines  
  • Lead author of the college textbook The American Aviation Experience: A History published by Southern Illinois University Press; Fall, 2000 
  • Currently an associate editor of The Journal of Aviation/Aerospace Education and Research, a refereed journal
