Aircraft Structure Materials

PI David Lanning

David Lanning of Aerospace Engineering has multiple projects. Much of Lanning's research centers on fatigue analysis of aircraft structures.

Of particular interest is work that he and students have done to determine the effect that stresses concentrations and foreign object debris (FOD) has on the life of turbine blade materials. Lanning has also engaged in research projects on several facets of engineering education.
