MBA/A: Master of Business Administration in Aviation

Our newest program is the Master of Business Administration in Aviation. The Master of Business Administration in Aviation degree program is designed to emphasize the application of modern management concepts, methods, and tools to the challenges of aviation and business. The special intricacies of aviation are woven into a strong, traditional business foundation by combining a specific core of distinct business competencies with a strong aviation foundation.

The demand for skilled professionals continues to grow in response to the increasing need for leaders who can manage the efficient and effective use of scarce resources; operate in an atmosphere of heightened national and international competition; and respond to the call to preserve our world's fragile eco-system - and the MBAA curriculum is oriented toward the needs of aviation leaders and decision-makers who can operate in this environment.

The prerequisite subject knowledge for a specific graduate course must be satisfied before enrollment in that specific course is permitted. Students may enroll in other graduate level courses as they meet any specific prerequisite knowledge required.

MSTM: Master of Science in Technical Management

The Space Coast Campus is accepting applications for the next cluster of the MSTM program to be held on alternate weekends, Friday and Saturdays over a two and a half year, two- month time period. This next cluster is tentatively scheduled to begin in Spring 2007. For more MSTM program information read below or click on the MSTM web site: http://www.erau.edu/ec/academicorgs/eccoce/mstm.html

The Master of Science in Technical Management (MSTM) degree was developed in cooperation with aviation and aerospace industry representatives. This unique degree has evolved into a technical program relating to industry as a whole. The curriculum emphasizes modern management concepts and methods and gives students a set of well-defined technical tools. It also focuses on building the communication and management skills that are needed in technically oriented enterprises. Major management disciplines are studied as a foundation for large-scale planning and decision-making, and students enhance classroom interaction by sharing perspectives and experiences from their work situations.

We bring the classroom to work

The MSTM program prepares technically trained employees for advancement within their companies and for larger managerial responsibilities. The MSTM degree program is delivered on-site at selected industry and government locations where a group of students have made the commitment to start and complete the program.

The program builds on three foundation courses that teach students how to use computers as decision-making tools, how to communicate conclusions concisely and persuasively, and how to use quantitative methods to make business decisions. Courses in project management and management information systems are particularly popular with both students and employers.

Students are given assignments requiring projects, reports, and presentations that exercise the knowledge and skills they have learned. They also complete a capstone management project that deals with making an improvement or solving an actual problem faced by their company.

MSTM faculty are composed of working professionals and subject-matter experts who teach courses on-site at corporate and government facilities where it is convenient for employee-students. Each class of students remains together from the start of the program until their completion of the degree. Students can expect to complete degree requirements in less than two years while they continue to work.
