Courses in this program will cover the aviation profession, the science of flight, security, the history of UAS and UAS operations, mission planning, data gathering, human factors and all facets of safety, accident prevention and accident investigation.

About Small Unmanned Aerial Systems Operations and Safety at the Worldwide & Online Campus
This program is designed for those who want to enter the growing UAS field, an industry that has recognized the importance of professional certificates and the tangible evidence of skills and training they provide.
The sUAS Operations and Systems Safety Certificate consists of four courses in which students can earn 12 undergraduate credit hours. The certificate requires completion of four courses:
- ASCI 202, Introduction to Aeronautical Science
- SFTY 210, introduction to Aerospace Safety
- UNSY 235, sUAS Flight and Mission Planning
- ACSI 260, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Systems
Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher for the series of courses in the certificate program.

The Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) Operations and Systems Safety Certificate provides broad knowledge of sUAS operations coupled with an aviation safety focus. Courses taken in this certificate provide the student knowledge of the aviation profession, the science of flight, security, human factors, the aviation environment, the history of unmanned systems, unmanned systems applications with an emphasis on operations, sUAS mission planning, sUAS configuration, sUAS data gathering, sUAS sytems, safety, human factors, mechanical factors in aviation safety, accident investigation, and safety programs and certificates. The sUAS Operations and Systems Safety Certificate consist of 4 courses that result in the student earning 12 undergraduate credit hours.
To be eligible for the award of an undergraduate certificate, a student must achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for the courses included in the degree program. The cumulative GPA for the series of courses in the certificate program must be 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Note: Certificate programs are not eligible for Title IV Federal Financial Aid.
