The unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry is a field with almost unlimited career potential and this certificate program gives students a broad knowledge of small UAS (sUAS) operations coupled with a distinct aviation safety focus.

Courses in this program will cover the aviation profession, the science of flight, security, the history of UAS and UAS operations, mission planning, data gathering, human factors and all facets of safety, accident prevention and accident investigation.

About Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operations and Safety at the Worldwide & Online Campus

This program is designed for those who want to enter the growing UAS field, an industry that has recognized the importance of professional certificates and the tangible evidence of skills and training they provide.

The sUAS Operations and Systems Safety Certificate consists of four courses in which students can earn 12 undergraduate credit hours. The certificate requires completion of four courses:

  • ASCI 202, Introduction to Aeronautical Science
  • SFTY 210, introduction to Aerospace Safety
  • UNSY 235, sUAS Flight and Mission Planning
  • ACSI 260, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Systems

Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher for the series of courses in the certificate program.
