Returning Students

Returning students DO NOT have to reapply each semester. Students will log in to their ERNIE account and enroll online for their courses via Campus Solutions each semester during the registration period.

Instructors will supply their students with the correct Course Code and Section Number for the course. Visit Important Dates for registration dates and deadlines.

First-Time Students

Complete Online Application – New Students Only – First 10 Days of Semester

All new students (students who have not taken an ERAU class previously) must complete the online application

  1. Click on High School Student.
  2. Click on Start New Application.
  3. Submit completed form for email address verification.
  4. A verification email will be sent to address provided. If not received, please check your spam filters.
  5. Click on verification link in the email to continue your application.
  6. Complete form and click Submit.
  7. You will receive a confirmation email.

Special care should be taken to enter information correctly, this will create the official ERAU student account. Applications are normally processed within a few days.

Once the application is processed at ERAU, the student will receive an email with their Embry‑Riddle Student ID number and email address. The student must log on to ERNIE to activate their account and set up their password and Duo two-factor authentication. An automatic email is generated to the high school for approval and another automatic email is sent to the Parent/Guardian for consent.

Log in to your ERNIE account and enroll in course via Campus Solutions during the registration period.

Accessing ERNIE

Thank you for applying to Embry‑Riddle! After you submit your application, you will receive an email that includes your student ID. You’ll need your student ID to set up your ERNIE account where you can monitor your status. To activate your ERNIE account:

  • Go to ernie.erau.edu.
  • Select "Activate Your Account."
  • Click "Next":
    • Put in ERAU ID.
    • Put in last name.
    • Put in date of birth.
  • Accept (the acceptable use policy).
  • Add personal email (optional).
  • Select security questions with answers.
  • SMS opt-in (optional):
    • If opting in, provide mobile number.
    • Verify mobile number with a text.
    • Add verification code that was texted.
  • Create a password.
  • Your account is now ready — log into ERNIE.

Duo is a two-factor authentication designed to add a second layer of security to your Embry‑Riddle account. With Duo two-factor authentication, your account is protected with something you know (a password) and something you have (a Duo-enrolled device, typically a mobile phone).

We strongly recommend the mobile app as the most user-friendly option. However, other options are available.

  1. Log into ERNIE or our pre-activation site.
  2. Arrive at Duo Authentication screen.
  3. Click "Start Setup."
  4. Select your type of device, and click "Continue." Jump to the section for the device you select.

Mobile Phone

  1. Enter your phone number.
  2. Check the box confirming that this is the correct number, and click "Continue."
  3. Select which type of phone you have. If you select “Other,” skip to the end — your device has been added!
  4. Download the Duo Mobile app for your device. Once the app is installed, click “I have Duo Mobile installed.”
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your Duo Mobile app.
  6. You must grant access to the app to use the phone's camera, if prompted, in order to scan the QR code on screen.

Authentication

  1. Push: When authenticating using the Duo app, you may choose to have a push notification sent to your phone. Tapping this notification and accepting the authentication message will allow you to log in. 
  2. Passcode: Another option is to tap the "Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University" entry within the app. This option will generate a six-digit code that you can type in (see Hardware Token section below). This method works even when no cellular or Wi-Fi signal is present; for example, if the phone is in Airplane Mode.
  3. SMS/Text Messages: You will also have the option of receiving a batch of 10 SMS messages that can be used for authentication. You will be able to enter these into the Passcode field (see Hardware Token section below). To request SMS messages, select the "Enter a Passcode" option.
  4. Call Me: Similar to a landline, you will be able to receive phone calls with a voice menu asking you to authenticate.

Tablet

  1. Select the type of tablet you are using.
  2. Download the Duo Mobile app for your device. Once the app is installed, click “I have Duo Mobile installed.”
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your Duo Mobile app.
  4. You must grant access to the app to use the phone's camera if prompted, in order to scan the QR code on screen.
  5. Authentication: The same Push and Passcode options will be available as a mobile phone above. Please reference that section for sample images.

Landline

  1. Specify your country, phone number and extension (if applicable).
  2. Check the box confirming that this is the correct number, and click "Continue."
  3. Authentication: When authenticating via phone, you will receive a phone call with voice instructions. Please follow these instructions to authenticate.

Enrolling in Courses – ALL STUDENTS

Instructors will supply their students with the correct Course Code and Section Number for the course. Students will need to enroll online for their courses each semester during the registration period.

Log in to ERNIE

  1. Select the Campus Solutions Student Homepage under ERAU Tools
  2. Select the Manage Classes tile on your CS homepage.
  3. Select Class Search and Enroll
  4. Select the correct Term (DB Dual Enrollment Fall 20xx or DB Dual Enrollment Spring 20xx) and enter the 4 digit CLASS NUMBER supplied by your instructor in the search bar. Please note that year long courses such as Private Pilot Ground School will be listed in the DB Dual Enrollment 20xx-20xx Term)
  5. Click on the blue highlighted class section to select.
  6. Click "next" through all prompts. Choose "Enroll" when prompted. After you submit, if your class selection is displayed with a green check mark, then registration was successful and you are enrolled. A red X will appear if the registration was unsuccessful along with an error message.

Student FAQs

This could be due to several factors:

  • Check to see if there is a hold on the student account.
  •  Is the student missing a pre-requisite? 
  • Account could still be processing, allow a minimum of 3 business days for processing. Students can check their status by emailing the registration help desk at the address below.

Student accounts are deactivated after two semesters of inactivity. If a student has changed high schools, their record will also need to be updated.

Instructor will supply the course, section and class number.
If the student is unable to self reset their password via the ERNIE log in screen, contact the IT Help Desk at 386-226-6990.
