Program Summary
EducationUSA Academy and Academy Connects at Embry‑Riddle programs are for high school students outside of the United States. These programs provide information about the U.S. higher education system and application process as well as aviation topic workshops.
Academy students will:
- attend workshops in Academic English Skills and aviation topics such as general aviation, radio telephony, and human factors.
- practice skills learned in workshops with fellow Academy students and teachers.
- talk with admission counselors at a variety of U.S. colleges and universities.
- learn important information about studying in the United States.
- write a college admissions essay and receive feedback from ERAU staff.
- participate in extracurricular activities.

How to Apply |
Requirements
- Be a current high school student between 15-18 years of age
- Reside outside of the United States
- Have at least an intermediate English language proficiency (e.g. B2 on the CEFR scale or higher)
Technology Requirements
- Access to reliable internet
- Computer, laptop or tablet with webcam
- Microphone and speakers or headset with a microphone built-in
- Latest version of Chrome
Schedule
Students are expected to attend online classes 3 days per week:
Session 1:
- Tuesdays, 12:00 UTC - 14:00 UTC (2 hours)
- Wednesdays, 12:00 UTC - 13:30 UTC (1.5 hours)
- Thursdays, 12:00 UTC - 13:30 UTC (1.5 hours)
Students are also expected to complete some independent assignments outside of the classroom. Independent work may take 1 hour per week.
Optional, fun, team-building activities will also be offered. These activities will occur on Wednesdays, 13:30 UTC.

Cost
The cost for the virtual program is US $400. A $50 deposit is due May 1, 2024, and the camp must be paid in full by June 15, 2024.
How to complete the program successfully
To complete the program and earn a certificate, students must:
- attend all required class meetings,
- participate in class each day, and
- complete all class assignments and independent work.

Activities
In-person EducationUSA Academy will keep students busy all day long! Students are expected to attend all program activities, including:
- Academic Preparation Classes (~30 hours)
- Aviation Topics & Aerospace Career Exploration (~15 hours)
- Team Building Activities: Escape Room, Community Quest
- College Visits: Flagler College, Daytona State College, Bethune Cookman University, University of Central Florida
- Field Trips: Museum of Arts & Sciences, Kennedy Space Center, St. Augustine
Students are also expected to complete some independent and group work assignments outside of the classroom.
*Program participants will be chaperoned at all times.
Cost
The cost for the in-person camp is US $3,500. The non-refundable deposit of $300 is due April 1, 2024, and the camp must be paid in full by June 1, 2024. Limited number of scholarships up to $500 are available.
The program cost includes:
- Tuition
- Books and materials
- Housing and meals
- Field trips and activities
- Transportation during camp
The program cost does not include:
- Transportation to and from home country to ERAU campus
- Visa or other travel documents
- Personal items and souvenirs
