Key components in this framework are providing support to teachers and students by making principled decisions, intervening early in student issues and ensuring that students are receiving and benefitting from campus services. Additionally, Ms. Savolainen wants to instill to the students the central role of accountability and autonomy play in academic success, so that once they transition to degree programs, they do so successfully.
