Large Eddy Simulations of Liftoff Noise Reduction

PI Vladimir Golubev

This work conducts numerical studies of impinging jet acoustics in support of the efforts to suppress high nonlinear acoustic loads on the spacecraft structures during the launch phase.

The focus is on using high-accuracy analysis to understand the appearance of the acoustic feedback loops and means of the effective noise control.
