SAE Formula Hybrid
PI Darris White
The project being completed by the Society of Automotive Engineers Formula Hybrid Team allows students to practice methods learned in the classroom while exploring new technologies popular in industry. After performing analysis on power output, the existing engine is providing more power than necessary, resulting in lower efficiency.
The project explores smaller engines and alternative fuels. There are currently no smaller engines on the market that suit the need of the organization, thus the organization will be researching alternatives.
