Working with private and public partners, Embry-Riddle Central & South America supports industry through specialized education for new and experienced professionals. Programs and projects can be tailored for your organization’s specific needs. The university also provides faculty, student and facility resources for applied research. 

Education

Aviation Management Program

The Aviation Management Program is a professional and international certification offered in partnership with Confederação Nacional do Transporte (CNT), Serviço Social do Transporte e Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem do Transporte (SEST-SENAT), Instituto de Transporte e Logística (ITL), and Associação Brasileira das Empresas Aéreas (ABEAR). The 18-month program consists of 11 aviation management courses that provide an overview of topics ranging from marketing and corporate finance to airline operations and management.

Regional Airports

Embry-Riddle has partnered with the Secretaria de Aviação Civil (SAC) to offer two online courses that support the government’s investment in civil aviation and regional airports. The two courses – Airport Revenue Management and Airport Operational Safety – are delivered in Portuguese, with a 50-hour workload split into 10 weekly modules.

Civil Aviation Regulation

Working with the Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC), Embry-Riddle offers several courses and programs to develop the authority’s employees and regulate and maintain aviation safety. Topics include Specialized Operations of Aircraft, Personnel Licensing and Specialization Program in Aeronautical Regulation and Safety Management.

Aerospace Engineering Mentorship

Embry-Riddle is a participating academic institution in EMBRAER’s Programa de Especialização de Engenharia corporate program for recent college graduates. The university provides virtual and in-person guidance and mentorship to student teams during their aviation engineering coursework and projects.

Human Factors

Human Factors in Aviation certificate courses are available to the general public through the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Topics including fatigue management, aeronautical decision-making and human factors issues in automation and cockpit design are discussed.

Aviation Awareness

This course is offered by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in partnership with the Secretaria Nacional de Aviação Civil (SAC) and its main objective is to provide education and disseminate the aviation culture, as well as expand the basic knowledge of professionals at public regional airports. The course is offered in Portuguese in a self-paced methodology.

Aviation Infrastructure Regulation

The Aviation Infrastructure Regulation program was developed by Embry-Riddle and PUCRS to be offered to ANAC’s employees as a professional education program. It covers various aspects and topics related to airport operations and management, airline strategy, public policy and economic impacts, data analytics and aviation law.

Global Supply Chain & Operations in Aviation Certificate

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has partnered with the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) to deliver a customized certificate in Global Supply Chain & Operations in Aviation. The certificate program is composed of six different courses and provides a flexible blended learning, composed of both asynchronous and synchronous activities.

Aviation English for ATCO

English for Air Traffic Control has two goals: to improve aviation English proficiency and to improve content knowledge about air traffic control concepts. English for Air Traffic Control enables students to improve their knowledge in general, civil and military aviation terminology. The goal of the course is to transition from ICAO Pre-Operational Level 3 to Operational Level 4 language proficiency, as measured by the EPLIS.

Applied Research

Airline Technical Operations

In partnership with different Brazilian Airlines, Embry-Riddle is exploring critical challenges to present viable solutions to promote aviation safety in the region. The main areas currently being researched are Energy Management Decision Making, Aviation Maintenance Decision Making, and Fatigue Management. Embry-Riddle is able to support airlines achieving safer and more efficient operations through the knowledge and expertise of our faculty and world-class infrastructure research facilities.
