The College of Arts & Sciences on Embry‑Riddle's Daytona Beach Campus hosted the inaugural COAS Week from March 28 to April 3, 2025, inviting students, faculty, staff and community members to engage with the vibrant disciplines offered.
The celebration kicked off with a scavenger hunt, lab tours, demonstrations and telescope viewings. Students explored innovative research spaces and hands-on learning environments — from the Engineering Physics Propulsion Lab and Human Factors and Behavioral Neurobiology Lab to the Space Art presentation and live astrophotography demos.

The week also marked the grand opening of the Security Studies and International Affairs Simulation Lab — a state-of-the-art facility that supports real-world learning in global security operations.

One of the highlights of the week was the premiere of a student-produced documentary on the Concorde, followed by a panel discussion.

Students also gained practical career insights during a panel hosted by the College of Arts & Sciences Industry Advisory Board. Experts shared valuable perspectives on job market trends and expectations for new graduates. The week continued with a university history talk by Dr. Steve Craft and interactive creative activities.

To close out the celebration, students displayed artwork, led hands-on activities and participated in literary projects at the Maverick Art Festival.

COAS Week served not only as a celebration of academic excellence — it provided students with a platform to connect, explore and envision the impact they can make through the arts and sciences. As the College of Arts & Sciences continues to expand opportunities across its programs, events like COAS Week affirm its role as a hub for innovation, exploration and community.
