Class Time!
"I live off campus, so as soon as I can get here, I'm able to get into my academic mindset and focus on school and work. I'm really enjoying my Stability and Controls class right now. We're looking at different pilot commands and environmental factors to see how the plane will respond. It's a lot of equations, but it's interesting and cool to connect the physical things with the calculations."
Study While You Recharge
"I really enjoy the atrium in the Lehman building. It's usually full, but when you find a nice spot to sit and study, it's quiet, there are plugs to plug everything in and it's nice and lit with lots of windows so you can see the sun."
Crafting Sustainable Spaceships
"I'm involved in a project called 'Eagle One,' where we're building a large rocket. We're in the design phase now and my title is payload specialist. This is very new; we are currently working on a NASA grant proposal. We're hoping to have funds to take this rocket all the way, so Embry-Riddle has a sustainable and reusable rocket to launch payloads up to around 30,000 feet."
Logging On
"I'm working part time for Sierra Nevada Corporation! My title is flight test engineering co-op, so what I do for them (virtually) is a lot of test planning. Generally, I get to be a test witness via Microsoft Teams, so it's very fun. Sometimes they bring their aircraft to Cape Canaveral for flight testing, and I'll go help with that!"
If You Know, You Know
"Buc-ee's is a favorite Daytona Beach staple of mine; anyone who goes here gets it. I also enjoy going down to the beach... Ponce Inlet is a fun drive, seeing the lighthouse and going over there at night."
