Waking Up with Coffee

"I went to Starbucks pretty much daily! I know all of the employees; they're super dear to me and kind. There is this woman, Theresa, who made cups for me every day. She went home, designed them, made my name with little beads and decorated them. It was so cute and I looked forward to it every morning."

Attending Class!

"My favorite class to attend [in my final semester] was Atomic and Nuclear Physics because it was a continuation of Quantum Physics from the previous semester. As scary as it sounds, it was actually easy in a way. That class was kind of a breather because it sounded hard, but was not."

Studying the Stars

Our Astronomy and Astrophysics program graduated more students than 85% of other undergraduate astronomy programs in the U.S.

Taking a Break

"This is a little secret... but I really like the locker rooms in the new gym, with private changing rooms. If I needed a second to lay down and was tired, I would just lay in there and take a second."

Did You Know?

The Eagle Fitness Center is equipped with rock-climbing walls, offers free exercise classes to students and has a swimming pool!

Meetings Upon Meetings

"In my last semester, I was part of senior class council, so that usually met on two days of the week. I have chapter meetings on Mondays for my sorority and that semester I joined SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers). I had a couple of friends in there who spoke so highly of the club, I was like, 'I gotta join!'"

Club Life

There are more than 260 on-campus clubs and organizations to choose from!

Lorena sits at a table, a dish of food in front of her, with a sign on the wall behind her that reads Arepita.

Out for Dinner

"I really liked going to Beach Street! I feel like there are a lot of cool things that are new or being built there. There is this Venezuelan spot that sells arepas. If I wanted to eat something close to home, I'd go there! I think it's a pretty good spot."

Around Town

It takes eight minutes by car to reach Beach Street from the Daytona Beach Campus. To the beach itself is only 13 minutes!
