Meet Prince A.

  • Campus: Prescott
  • Degree: Aeronautics
  • Hometown: Aiea, Hawaii
"I was the president of the Student Government Association (SGA) in Prescott. I was also a member of our local National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) chapter, our Women in Aviation chapter, our Board of Campus Activities (BCA), Sigma Chi Fraternity, two different honor societies and the Eagle Volleyball Club!"

Rise and Shine

"I woke up at 7:30 a.m. every morning... breakfast was an everything bagel with some avocado! Next, I usually went to the SGA office to get some coffee."

Did you know?

The SGA offices on both residential campuses offer free coffee, tea, candy and snacks to students who stop by.

Class Act

"Every day I spent about three hours in classes. My favorite class was Thunderstorms (WEAX 363). It was very beneficial for my degree program because, as a pilot, we are always looking out for thunderstorms, making sure we understand how to navigate them and how storms form. It gave me a whole new perspective on weather."

More Weather Classes

Other courses relating to weather at Embry-Riddle include Applied Climatology, Weather Information for Air Crews, Satellite and Radar Weather Interpretation and more.

Leading the Way!

“The best part about being SGA President was the fact that I got to meet so many amazing people. I met with President Butler, Chancellor Karlsson and the core leadership team of Embry-Riddle. Just knowing that whatever we do had an impact and benefited the overall student experience on campus every day was what drove me to do this job. My SGA office was probably my favorite spot on campus!”

Helping Hands

Prescott SGA recently launched a Student Nutrition Initiative in collaboration with the Salvation Army to aid students who may not have access to affordable, nutritious dining options elsewhere.

Taking Flight

“In school, I was trying to finish up my commercial single engine license, so I waited for a check-ride for that. I would sometimes hope to rent a plane just because it was so nice out. I loved going outside when it was snowing. It was amazing to see Prescott in a whole different color. It was pretty.”

Historically the Best of the Best

Most graduates from Embry-Riddle's Department of Flight become professional airline pilots or find careers in flying other commercial, private or military aircraft.

Furry Friends

“When I got home, I took my dog out, cooked dinner, watched some TV, did homework and got ready for bed. My dog’s name is Arthur! He’s a giant goofball.”

The Great Outdoors

Apart from caring for his dog, Prince shared that he often visited Goldwater Lake to hammock and feed the ducks.
