Background

In compliance with SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation 8.2.a and 8.2.b as well as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Academic Policy AP-08, the University requires an annual academic assessment process in which degree program faculty identify expected learning and performance outcomes, assess the extent to which they achieve the outcomes, and provide evidence of improvement based on analysis of the results. Every program is afforded a mechanism by which to make a request for financial resources through the university budgeting process to facilitate needed improvements.

Process

Degree program faculty create annual assessment plans, document assessment findings and create assessment action plans. This documentation is submitted online through a common template. The Assessment Committee reviews documentation and provides feedback to the degree program faculty.

  • Update on Strategic Action Improvement Plans (SAIPs) from previous program review (23-24 reviews only).
  • For 2024-25 – Mission statement and alignment to ERAU, results of Program Goals, Annual Process Survey
  • For 2025-26 - Mission, Program-level Student Learning Outcomes (PLOs), Program Goals, details about outcomes and goal measurement and acceptable performance

Oct. 1, 2025  Request End-of-Course Evaluation survey customized questions for 2025-26. Submit EOC Request Form to Kim Brantley and Lisa Kopp.
Oct. 31, 2025  OCIIP staff feedback on 24-25 results and reflection and 25-26 plans. Feedback reports will be available IN Anthology for programs who have completed input by 9/30/25 without assistance of OCIIP staff. Those working directly with the OCIIP team will be aware of the feedback and formal reports will be added later in the semester.
Dec. 15, 2025  Updates to 24-25 results or 25-26 plans as needed based on OCIIP feedback.
