Boeing Scholars Program Paves the Way for Briana Taylor
What is the Boeing Scholars Program?
The Boeing Scholars program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University offers two-year scholarships to high-performing high school students who will be pursuing degrees in aviation and aerospace at Embry-Riddle.
Scholars receive financial support as well as unique opportunities such as exclusive group projects, mentorship, facility visits and connections with professionals at The Boeing Company — all designed to help launch successful careers in the industry.
“Through this important partnership with Boeing, we are fostering the next generation of aviation talent that our industry needs," said Embry‑Riddle President P. Barry Butler, Ph.D. "The Boeing Scholars program provides unique support to these outstanding students, who are motivated to realize their personal and professional goals of building rewarding careers across aviation and aerospace."
Fueling Lifelong Ambition
Meet Briana Taylor (’29), one of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s 2025 cohort of Boeing Scholars.
Due to her lifelong interest in aviation, Taylor is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott Campus.
“Even as a child, I’ve always been fascinated by airplanes. Once I made the decision to become a pilot about five years ago, I knew I'd want to pursue a degree that would help me toward that goal,” Taylor said. “When Embry-Riddle’s program came to my attention, I knew it was exactly what I needed.”
Making Herself at Home
A graduate of Clayton High School in Clayton, New Mexico, Taylor enjoys the Prescott Campus’s closeness and similar weather to her hometown. She’s adjusting to college life on campus, balancing coursework with downtime and exploring student activities — all new experiences for her.
The Sky is Limitless
“Being awarded the Boeing Scholarship has opened my eyes to new opportunities and broadened my horizons,” Taylor shares. “After graduation, I planned to work for an airline or charter service, but now a career at Boeing is in the mix.”
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped me get to where I am now, from my family back home to organizations like The Boeing Company,” she tells us.
Empowering Through Partnership
The Boeing Company is recognized worldwide as a leader in aerospace innovation, commercial airplanes and defense systems. With a workforce of over 150,000 people and operations in more than 150 countries, Boeing is committed to pushing the boundaries of technology while investing in its global team and future growth.
“The Boeing Company is committed to nurturing the next generation of aviation leaders,” said Linwood Ham, director of Boeing Global Engagement — Eastern Region. “By investing in these talented students, we are not only supporting their educational journeys but also strengthening the future of the aerospace industry. We believe that through mentorship, networking and financial support, these scholars will soar to new heights in their careers.”
“If you’re interested in aviation and aerospace, don't let anything hold you back. There are many obstacles in life, especially when pursuing a career in these fields, but that shouldn’t be a deterrent. There are organizations that want to help people achieve their dreams, like The Boeing Company, so always be on the lookout for help when things are difficult.”
