At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, we are proud to be at the forefront of integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into continuous improvement practices. In an era defined by innovation and transformation, we believe that emerging technologies like GenAI hold the power to reduce bureaucracy, streamline processes, and refocus our efforts where they matter most: on student learning and student success.

Our leadership in this space extends across national initiatives. ERAU is thrilled to be a co-lead the Generative AI Community of Practice (CoP) through the Assessment Institute—the nation’s oldest and largest event dedicated to assessing and improving higher education. The CoP provides professional development, access to GenAI thought leaders, and opportunities to pilot innovative projects that shape the future of assessment practice. We are also proud to be a participating institution in the AAC&U Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and the Curriculum, where we are actively exploring the ethical, educational, and institutional implications of GenAI across disciplines.

Further affirming our national leadership, Embry-Riddle played a key role in analyzing the Generative AI in Higher Education Assessment Survey, the first major study capturing how institutions across the country are beginning to use GenAI to transform assessment practices. The findings are helping institutions nationwide make informed, responsible, and impactful decisions about GenAI integration.

To support these efforts internally, we’ve developed a suite of GenAI-powered tools that remove bureaucratic hurdles and empower our faculty and staff to focus on what truly matters:

ClarityTower is a dedicated support tool for faculty and academic staff, simplifying the creation of catalog-compliant course materials and effective Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs). It ensures outcomes are assessable, aligned, and written with clarity, enabling more meaningful assessment and smoother course design across programs.
GlennForm supports academic programs in crafting effective, data-informed assessment reports. It provides structured guidance to help users define program goals, clarify thresholds for success, and design robust data collection strategies. GlennForm also prompts reflection on results, supports change planning, and ensures alignment with accreditation standards—grounding our improvement efforts in evidence and action.
ShepardScope assists administrative and co-curricular units in developing strong, aligned mission statements, goals, and measurable outcomes. With a focus on institutional alignment and strategic impact, ShepardScope ensures that every unit's contributions are clearly defined and integrated into broader effectiveness efforts.

Together, these innovations represent a new model for institutional effectiveness—one that respects faculty time, enhances assessment quality, and accelerates progress toward our mission. At Embry-Riddle, we’re not just adopting GenAI—we’re leading its responsible, student-centered integration in higher education.
