Dr. Becky Lutte is chair of the Worldwide Department of Aeronautics, an associate professor and a member of the leadership team for the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Boeing Center for Aviation and Aerospace Safety. Her research focuses on aviation workforce development, particularly the outreach, recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented groups in aviation. Her research interests also include aviation safety policy, sustainability and online course design and delivery.
Dr. Lutte has authored more than 40 publications appearing in academic journals, industry magazines and books. She was appointed by the former U.S. Secretary of Transportation to serve on the Federal Aviation Administration's Women in Aviation Advisory Board.
A recognized voice on aviation workforce issues, Dr. Lutte has delivered numerous presentations and participated in media interviews on topics related to the aviation industry. She has also testified before the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate on aviation workforce development and women in aviation.
An active pilot, Dr. Lutte owns and flies RV-7 and RV-10 homebuilt experimental aircraft.
