Embry-Riddle is one of the premier aviation and aerospace universities in the world, and we know that many of our students come from families where flying is a normal part of life. Therefore, it is only natural to expect some of our guests will want to fly here in their own aircraft to visit the university. We are more than happy to accommodate all our fellow aviation enthusiasts and visitors; however, there are some rules and limitations that everyone must abide by in order for us to provide the safe, secure and high-quality experience you would expect when you come to Embry-Riddle.
Advance notice via our Ramp Visitor Registration Form is required to coordinate with airport operations, local aviation service providers and our ramp personnel. Ramp space is limited and managed on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure availability and proper coordination, operators are encouraged to submit the form as soon as flight details are confirmed, but must meet the following deadlines:
- Large aircraft (greater than 12,500 lbs.): At least one week prior to arrival
- Smaller aircraft: At least 24 to 48 hours prior to arrival
While there is no parking fee for aircraft utilizing the university’s ramp, please note that charges apply for ground services, including turn service, towing and fuel.
There are operational limitations regarding the size and weight of aircraft that can be accommodated:
- Maximum allowable weight: 65,000 lbs.
- Maximum wingspan: 90 feet
For visitors arriving via helicopter, please note that aircraft must be towed onto the ramp. Coordination will be managed by the Flight Dispatch and Ramp Operations Manager, who will contact all visitors upon receipt of a completed Ramp Visitor Registration Form.
Please be advised that the university’s ramp is not a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) and may not offer the amenities typically associated with FBO facilities. However, our team is committed to providing professional, courteous service to all visiting flight crews and guests. With more than 200 flight instructors and aviation professionals on site, we take great pride in fostering an environment that reflects the university’s dedication to safety, excellence and aviation leadership.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Embry‑Riddle Flight Department and will make every effort to ensure your visit is a positive and memorable experience.
