For nearly a century, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has built a reputation as the oldest, largest and most prestigious institution specializing in aviation and aerospace. Today, as a distance-learning pioneer, our online degrees are renowned worldwide and have been ranked among the top 10 for more than a decade by "U.S. News & World Report."
Our Worldwide Campus offers programs you can complete entirely online, without attending face-to-face seminars. It also enables busy professionals or students just beginning their academic journeys to study comfortably from home, work, cafés or while traveling, on a schedule that suits them. If you prefer face-to-face learning, we have learning options at more than 110+ sites around the globe to meet your needs.
We have become a recognized educational leader in Europe. If you have work experience as an aviation professional with over 12 years of experience, you may be able to earn credits for your experience through an “Experiential Learning Evaluation,” allowing you to enter a master’s program directly without having to complete a bachelor's degree.
You can also combine special high school diplomas — such as the Abitur or International Baccalaureate — with an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) to earn prior learning credits toward either our Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics or our Bachelor of Science in Pilot Operations.
In addition, our Europe location in the House of Logistics and Mobility, within walking distance of Germany’s Frankfurt Airport, provides you with the opportunity to build vital practical experience and strong professional networks through our close ties with nearby aviation and aerospace companies.
If you’re ready to elevate your education, discover how Embry-Riddle can help you keep climbing.

Aircraft mechanics are part of the maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) sector. The MRO sector is one of the largest employment areas in aviation and aerospace, focusing on enhancing aircraft safety and quality through maintenance and modifications. Mechanics work in various settings, using tools and equipment to conduct inspections, preventive maintenance and system alterations.
If you're passionate about aviation but prefer a role outside of piloting, consider a career as an aircraft mechanic. Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Aviation Maintenance or Aeronautics, or a graduate degree in Aeronautics, from Embry‑Riddle can set you on this path.
