Established in 2019, the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards & Scholar Development provides holistic advising and support to currently enrolled Embry-Riddle undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni applying for the nationally and internationally competitive scholarships, fellowships and awards from our curated list of opportunities we believe meet the needs of our population. We inform the Embry-Riddle community about opportunities and work closely with faculty and staff to help identify and match our students’ talent to award criteria. We strive to teach our Eagles how to develop as strong candidates for fellowships and awards.
The Embry-Riddle Office of Nationally Competitive Awards & Scholar Development is a member of The National Association of Fellowships Advisors and adheres to the organization’s values and code of ethics in fellowship advising.

Some awards for which our office offers application assistance include: Goldwater Scholarship, NSF GRFP, Aviation Week Network’s 20 Twenties Award, Patti Grace Smith Fellowship, and Critical Language Scholarship. Once enrolled at Embry-Riddle, you’ll be able to access the full list of opportunities on our internal ERNIE site.
Once a student at Embry-Riddle, you’ll be able to schedule interest meetings with staff and peer mentors, attend follow up meetings to discuss application components and participate in workshops to help you develop strong and competitive applications.
