In newly published research in the journal Scientific Reports, Dr. Subhradeep Roy, assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and graduate Ian McKinney introduced a new, easy-to-apply computational method for analyzing collective behavior in biological systems — a method that could also be used for designing coordinated swarms of drones, robots and other systems.
