The Golden Eagles Flight Team was founded in 1979 as the first student organization established at Embry-Riddle's Prescott campus. Since then, the team has remained grounded in the core values that define champions: legacy, pride, safety and responsibility.

By the Numbers

The Golden Eagles compete annually at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference — SAFECON — where student pilots are tested on precision flying, ground events and aviation knowledge.

With 16 national championships, Embry-Riddle Prescott stands among the elite programs in collegiate aviation competition.

Want to Become a Golden Eagle?

Any Embry‑Riddle Prescott student is welcome to join the team. Tryouts begin at the start of the fall semester with an info night followed by a six-week tryout period. Team members are then selected from a process of interviews and weekly evaluations.
