At the Daytona Beach Department of Civil Engineering and Aerospace Infrastructure prepares students to design, construct and sustain the infrastructure that powers our world — from airports, bridges and master-planned communities to spaceport facilities, lunar launchpads and global service projects. Our recent senior design capstones show the breadth of our program, with teams delivering real-world solutions for airport improvements, commercial developments, roadway and bridge replacements, fly-in communities, sports complexes, and Engineers Without Borders projects in Ecuador.
Civil engineering involves all the design activities that make the world habitable — runways, terminals, bridges, subdivisions, public facilities and even future off-planet infrastructure. From local community projects to aerospace-driven challenges, our students learn to engineer systems that are functional, resilient and ready for the future.
Designing Solutions That Last
Through high-impact capstones such as airport terminal replacements, spaceport enhancements, lunar construction concepts, bridge replacement designs and large-scale land development projects, students experience the full engineering cycle — concept, design, analysis and delivery. These immersive, client-driven projects build technical mastery, teamwork and the confidence needed for professional success.
Small Classes, Big Opportunities
With small class sizes and exceptional faculty mentors, students receive personalized support while gaining hands-on experience in projects that shape communities — on Earth and beyond.

the future through innovation and ingenuity.
College Labs
College Labs
Located in the Lehman Engineering and Technology Center, our Civil Engineering labs give students hands-on experience in structural design, materials testing, transportation systems, geotechnical studies and sustainable engineering. These labs prepare students to engineer the infrastructure of tomorrow.
Our students thrive in a dynamic research environment, mentored by world-class faculty who pioneer discoveries, secure major grants and drive innovation in aerospace and beyond.
Our faculty blend real-world engineering experience with a passion for teaching, mentoring students in structural, environmental, geotechnical and transportation engineering through hands-on projects and research.
It’s a very unique school so that’s what really drew me. There weren’t any other schools quite like it.”
