Next Steps in the Admissions Process
As an applicant, you’ll gain instant access to Embry-Riddle’s Network for Information Exchange (ERNIE). This is the system where you can monitor your admission documents and status, and it is the system you will continue to use as a student at Embry-Riddle.
By utilizing ERNIE and its features, you can stay informed and organized throughout your academic journey. Make sure to explore all that ERNIE has to offer and take full advantage of the tools available to support your success.
Follow the steps below to set up your ERNIE account.
Duo is a two-factor authentication system designed to add an extra layer of security to your Embry-Riddle account. With Duo two-factor authentication, your account is protected by something only you know (a password) and something you have (a device enrolled in Duo, typically a mobile phone).
We strongly recommend the mobile app as the most user-friendly option. However, other options are available.
Select your type of device and click "Continue." Jump to the section for the device you select.
Setting Up Duo on a Mobile Phone
We strongly recommend using Duo Authentication on a mobile phone.
Enter your phone number.
Check the box to confirm this is the correct number and click "Continue."
Select which type of phone you have. If you select “Other,” skip to the end — your device has been added!
Download the Duo Mobile app for your device. Once the app is installed, click “I have Duo Mobile installed.”
Follow the on-screen instructions to activate your Duo Mobile app.
You must grant access to the app to use the phone's camera, if prompted, to scan the QR code on screen.
Duo Authentication/Notification Options
Push: When authenticating using the Duo app, you may choose to have a push notification sent to your phone. Tapping this notification and accepting the authentication message will allow you to log in.
Passcode: Another option is to tap the "Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University" entry within the app. This option will generate a six-digit code that you can type in (see Hardware Token section below). This method works even when no cellular or Wi-Fi signal is present; for example, if the phone is in Airplane Mode.
SMS/Text Messages: You will also have the option of receiving a batch of 10 SMS messages that can be used for authentication. You will be able to enter these into the Passcode field (see Hardware Token section below). To request SMS messages, select the "Enter a Passcode" option.
Call Me: Similar to a landline, you will be able to receive phone calls with a voice menu asking you to authenticate.
As an applied student, you can use ERNIE to:
Access your Embry‑Riddle email account
Set up auxiliary access to grant permission for others to access your educational records
Find contact information for university staff
View announcements and news about Embry‑Riddle
See important deadlines and dates
Make a payment
See the Campus Solutions “To-Do List” for documents required, and submit them to us
If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact Embry-Riddle IT staff for assistance.
Are You Ready for Lift-Off?
Congratulations on your acceptance to Embry‑Riddle! We are excited to have you join our community.

There are a few things you will need to do before you start classes, and this checklist varies by campus and program.
Pick your campus tab to find more information.
Tuition Deposit
The $200 nonrefundable tuition deposit is used to indicate your intention to attend. Submitting your deposit on time will trigger important communications and help you stay on track as you plan for your arrival. It also guarantees your place in the entering class.
For students accepted for the fall term, the deposit is due by May 1.
For students accepted for the spring term, the deposit is due by Nov. 1.
For students accepted for Summer A term, the deposit is due by April 1.
For students accepted for Summer B term, the deposit is due by May 1.
The recommended method is to make your tuition deposit through your student portal using your ERNIE login information. The deposit will be reflected in your student account immediately. Follow these steps:
Go directly to Campus Solutions, or log in to ERNIE and select Campus Solutions under My Tools.
From inside the Campus Solutions Student Homepage, make sure the top of your page says Applicant Homepage. If it does not, it will say Student Homepage. Click the down arrow in front of Student Homepage to select the Applicant Homepage. Once on the Applicant Homepage, select the Admissions tile to access your Application Status page.
On the left side of the Applicant Status page, select Pay Deposit-Daytona/Prescott tab right below the Application Status tab to take you to the My Deposit page.
Once on the My Deposit page, you have the option to either pay both your Tuition and Housing Deposits together by selecting $500 Total Deposit and clicking Submit or pay them separately by selecting the corresponding deposit amount for each respective deposit ($200 for Tuition Deposit or $300 for Housing Deposit) and clicking Submit.
After selecting the amount to pay and clicking on Submit, a small pop-up confirming the amount you have selected to pay will show up. Select OK to continue to a secure site where you can process your payment.
Select your Payment Method (Credit Card or Electronic check) and then click Continue to proceed.
If you’re paying by Credit Card, input your credit card and billing information. If you’re paying by Electronic Check, input your bank information.
Select Continue and follow the instruction on the screen to complete your payment.
You can also set up auxiliary access to ERNIE for family members to make a tuition deposit. Family members should follow these steps:
Once access is granted by the student, you will receive an email with the user ID and instructions. The student must communicate the password to you; it is not contained in the email. To use the auxiliary access, visit mystudent.erau.edu and log in with the user ID and password. Once logged in, select Make a Payment in the Auxiliary User Collection list.
Review the disclosure statement regarding credit card or bank information. If this is the first time logging in, the user will need to select the button to show you have read and understand the disclosure information. Once you have agreed to the statement, you will be able to click on the Pay Deposit – Tuition and/or Housing button.
You can make the Housing, Tuition, or both deposits. Select only one deposit option and then click Submit. You will receive a message to confirm the amount of the payment. If you happen to select the submit button without making a choice, you will receive a retry option.
You are now ready to process the payment based on the deposit type you selected. Select either credit card or electronic check from the dropdown menu. Click Continue.
Enter your payment information and click Continue.
Review the Refund Policy Agreement, which can be printed and saved for your records. Once you select Continue, you are agreeing to the policy, and the payment will be processed.
A confirmation page will display, and you can print the receipt. You will see a final Transaction Successful message and receive an email notification of payment.
Go back to the Account Access window that remained open and click on Home in the far upper right-hand corner to return to the Auxiliary User Collection list as seen in Step 1. You may also select the Self Service option in the menu bar to navigate elsewhere.
If you do not have your ERNIE credentials, you can still make a tuition deposit using the guest access, which may take up to two business days to reflect on the account. You will need to enter the student name and ID.
On-Campus Housing Deposit
Once your tuition deposit has been submitted, Embry-Riddle is ready to welcome you to your new campus home. We must have your housing deposit and complete housing contract before we can send your housing assignment.
