Welcome to Embry-Riddle's Prescott Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence (CTLE). We support faculty success by providing the resources, expertise, training, and support needed to excel in today's higher education environment.
CTLE Programs for ERAU Faculty
Mid-Semester Feedback (MSF)
The MSF program helps faculty gather anonymous student feedback midway through the semester. Participants receive a summary of results and may consult with CTLE staff to identify meaningful, achievable course improvements. By making adjustments before the semester ends, faculty can respond to student concerns and enhance the learning experience in real time.
Students-as-Partners (SAP)
SAP is a semester-long partnership between a faculty member and a student partner. Student partners attend class, provide regular feedback, and offer insights into the student experience. Student partners also engage with students in the class to learn directly about the student perception of classroom activities and assessments. The program supports course improvement, strengthens student leadership skills, and fosters meaningful faculty-student collaboration. CTLE provides compensation for student partners and ongoing support for both faculty and student partners.
Faculty Fellows
Faculty Fellows are experienced educators who partner with CTLE to support teaching excellence across campus. Representing all colleges on the Prescott campus, Fellows provide peer observations, teaching consultations, mentorship, and professional guidance. Faculty are encouraged to connect with a Fellow for support at any stage of their teaching career.
Consultations and Classroom Observations
Faculty may schedule individual consultations with CTLE staff to discuss teaching, course design, student engagement, assessment, or other instructional topics. CTLE staff and Faculty Fellows also offer classroom observations at any point during a semester followed by formative feedback focused on enhancing teaching effectiveness and student learning.
Annual Teaching & Learning Showcase
Each April, CTLE hosts a campus-wide showcase celebrating innovative teaching and learning practices. The event features presentations from faculty and students, opportunities for discussion and collaboration, and a catered lunch. We invite the campus community to join us in exploring creative approaches to teaching and learning unique to the Prescott campus.
