The Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Daytona Beach Campus builds your foundation in mathematics and physics while providing opportunities to establish yourself in the field. Housed in the Department of Physical Sciences within the Daytona Beach College of Arts and Sciences, you have the opportunity to engage with the Southeastern Association for Research in Astronomy (SARA). This collaboration provides you with nearly constant access to telescopes that can observe about 90% of the night sky.
In this program, you'll work in advanced facilities, including a one-meter telescope, the largest research telescope at a university in the southeastern U.S. You will also have access to state-of-the-art labs, such as the Laboratory for Exosphere and Near Space Environment Studies (LENSES). The resources available to you in this program ensure you're well-prepared for careers or further education in fields like space exploration and planetary science.
