Dr. Geoffrey C. Murray serves as an assistant professor in the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide. He brings nearly four decades of experience spanning aviation, aerospace, engineering, consulting and airline operations.
Murray earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University and an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. His professional career includes leadership roles across the aviation industry, including serving as a partner and practice leader with Oliver Wyman's Aviation and Aerospace Team, managing director at Macquarie Group Limited and principal at A.T. Kearney. He also worked as a senior engineer in flight test, structural loads and dynamics for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.
In addition to his academic role, Murray is a partner and senior advisor with AeroDynamic Advisory and serves as an airline pilot based at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. He is also the founder of KnowDelay, a flight delay prediction service focused on improving operational decision-making within the aviation industry.
Throughout his career, Murray has advised airlines, original equipment manufacturers, suppliers and investors on aviation strategy, operations and performance. His expertise has been featured by national media outlets including CNN, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal and Fox News.
At Embry-Riddle, Murray develops and teaches courses that connect aviation theory with real-world industry practices, drawing on extensive experience across airline operations, aerospace engineering and management consulting.
