George Krakowski

George Krakowski is an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Decision Science and Analytics, College of Business, Daytona Beach Campus. His main areas of responsibility are teaching logistics, management and public administration courses.  

Professor Krakowski has achieved an All But Dissertation (ABD) from Northcentral University, an MBA from Northcentral University, an MPA from Golden Gate University, a B.A. from the University of Maryland and an A.A. from the Community College of the Air Force. His professional background includes extensive U.S. Air Force Military service and federal civil service with the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy. 

Associate Professor Krakowski specializes in the optimization of the management of air cargo and logistics management for aviation disciplines. Professor Krakowski's military background consisted of extended service in the U.S. Air Force in Asia, Europe and the United States, achieving the rank of major. He participated in combat operations with the 1st Air Commando Squadron in Pleiku, South Vietnam, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for support of kinetic combat operations. Additional assignments include air operations support at Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand; staff officer with U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Ramstein Air Base, Germany; squadron commander at RAF Bentwaters, England; and staff officer with Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. He completed honorable and distinguished military service overseas and in the United States in various capacities, including support, managerial, command and leadership roles. After leaving the U.S. Air Force, Professor Krakowski served as director of commercial services management and command evaluation (inspector general) at the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center, Norfolk, U.S. Navy, from 2005 to March 2012. He was also the director of employee training and development at NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center, Norfolk, from 2002 to 2005.

Beyond Professor Krakowski's 31 years of eclectic teaching experience encompassing over 600 traditional and online courses, Professor Krakowski was also a member of the College of Business Faculty Senate from 2014 to 2015 and served on the President’s Council from 1998 to 2000. 

I have over 40 years’ of teaching experience as a traditional and online adjunct professor. To date, I have taught numerous university courses in subjects such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Management of Air Cargo, Business, Marketing, Financial Management, Mathematics, Public Administration and Management for a total of  237 ERAU courses of which 48 were via Eagle Vision. I am also a past member (three years) of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Faculty Senate and Assembly. In February 2006, I served  a two-year term on the President’s Council. Additionally, I have also served on various ERAU Worldwide Campus Ad Hoc Committees. I was selected in October 2015 by the ERAU, Worldwide Campus, Faculty Senate President to serve on the Academic Technology Committee.  I also have extensive Military, Private Sector, and US Government Civil Service experience. I joined the US Air Force in 1963, and had extensive overseas tours in Vietnam (I was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for this war zone deployment), Thailand, Germany, Italy and England. Upon my return in 1988 to the U.S., I served as an Industrial Engineer and Manpower Management Programmer/Analyst at Headquarters, Air Combat Command, Langley AFB, Virginia. In 1992, I left the Air Force with the grade of Major. I was also a Commonwealth of Virginia Licensed Real Estate Agent. In November 1999, the president of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University awarded me an innovation award for the design and implementation of the first prototype online class for the ERAU Worldwide Campus. From October 2000 to July 2002, I was employed as an Management and Program Analyst for the United States Coast Guard (USCG), Resource, Planning, and Performance Division, Atlantic Area, 5th District Headquarters, Portsmouth, Virginia. In November 2002, I was awarded by the Transportation Secretary a Team Award for the development of the USCG Readiness Management System-a high priority, Coast Guard-wide initiative to improve service-wide shore, afloat and airborne readiness. From July 2002 to March 2012,  I was a Supervisory Business and Industrial Analyst, assigned to the US Navy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Fleet Logistics Center, Norfolk, Virginia, Business Support Department. At the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, ,I was also the Director of the Commercial Services Management and Command Evaluation Branch. Additionally, I served on the NAVSUP Inspector General (IG) team where I  completed an IG inspection at NAS Sigonella (Sicily, Italy) in November 2009 and at Naval Facility Yokosuka, Japan in March 2010. I also pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, with a specialization in Public Administration, at the Northcentral University, Prescott, AZ.  In concert with this, in July 2010, I completed my Doctoral Comprehensive Examination (thereby earning a Doctor in "All But Dissertation (ABD) category)." Additionally, my academic background consists of a Master of Business Administration degree in Public Administration from the Northcentral University, Master of Public Administration degree in Manpower Management from the Golden Gate University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus, and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Resource Management Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. Since 2002, I have earned 27 post-graduate hours in Information Systems Technology, Educational Curriculum Development for Online courses, Computer Science and Systems Engineering from the Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia.  In March 2004, I earned a certificate of completion by attending a three-week Advanced Management Program, at the Tench Francis School of Business, Navy Supply Corps School at Athens, Georgia and since then, I've attended various technical training courses within DoD, the most recent (January 2010), the US Navy IG Investigator’s Course.  In September 2009, I successfully completed a nine-week US Navy Lean Six Sigma course under the aegis of the DoD Continuous Improvement Program.
