Professor Stacey McIntire is department chair of the Aeronautical Science Department and assistant professor in the College of Aviation on the Prescott Campus. She provides academic leadership for one of the university’s largest aviation programs while teaching, mentoring and supporting the development of future aviation professionals.
Professor McIntire holds an M.S. in Aeronautics and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on language and culture. She also earned a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate and a Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD) credential. Prior to joining higher education, she worked as an educator, developing expertise in language acquisition and student success that would later inform her work in aviation education.
Since joining Embry-Riddle in 2014, Professor McIntire has served in a variety of academic and leadership roles, including English language instructor, academic advisor, assistant professor, associate department chair and department chair. Her research focuses on aviation education, student success and the use of emerging technologies to enhance learning. She is particularly interested in developing innovative instructional strategies that improve student engagement, support diverse learners and strengthen educational outcomes within aviation programs.
Professor McIntire has contributed to research exploring the integration of artificial intelligence in aviation education and the use of augmented reality in collegiate flight training. Her recent publications examine the potential of AI to transform aviation learning environments, while her collaborative research on augmented reality has investigated its effectiveness in supporting flight training and international student success. She has also presented research on aviation English, language proficiency development and pedagogical practices that promote student achievement in aviation education.
As an academic leader, Professor McIntire is committed to advancing student success, faculty development and curriculum innovation. Her work bridges educational theory and aviation practice, helping prepare graduates for the evolving demands of the aviation industry.
Professor McIntire is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and an active member of the University Aviation Association (UAA), the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots. She also serves as faculty advisor and scholarship chair for the Granite Mountain Chapter of The Ninety-Nines, supporting mentorship and educational opportunities for current and future aviators.
