Dr. Golubev is a tenured professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. He joined the university in 2001 after three years of engineering research experience with Trane.
His research focuses on high-fidelity numerical analysis of unsteady flow-structure interactions, with applications in aerodynamics, aeroacoustics, propulsion and flow control. He has also applied computational prediction methods to other disciplines, including financial engineering.
At Embry-Riddle, Dr. Golubev is the founding director of the Propulsion and Aerodynamics Computational Laboratory. He also leads an interdisciplinary Computational Aero Propulsion Group within the multi-university Florida Center for Advanced Aero Propulsion. The group brings together faculty and students from multiple academic programs to advance research in aircraft flow, flight and propulsion control, with particular emphasis on the fundamental and applied science of uncrewed aircraft operations in gusty urban environments.
Dr. Golubev has authored nearly 200 refereed journal and conference publications and has delivered keynote presentations at engineering conferences. His research has received support from NASA, the National Science Foundation, Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Office of Naval Research, Florida Center for Advanced Aero Propulsion and United Launch Alliance.
He has been a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Aeroacoustics Technical Committee since 2005 and has organized or co-organized two AIAA Aeroacoustics meetings as well as numerous conference sessions.
Dr. Golubev is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, an AIAA Associate Fellow and a Fulbright Scholar. He has also served for many years as an Air Force/ASEE and NASA Summer Faculty Fellow. In 2011, he received Embry-Riddle’s Outstanding Researcher Award.
