Wesley Torres

Overview

Dr. Wesley Torres is an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Management within the College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He earned a Doctor of Business Administration from California Southern University and holds a Master of Business Administration in Aviation and a Master of Science in Project Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He also earned a Master of Science in Health Sciences from Touro University and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida.

Dr. Torres brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning commercial aviation, military service, information technology, healthcare administration, and higher education. His career includes leadership roles with Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, General Dynamics Information Technology, and the United States Department of War’s Army Medical Department (AMEDD). His professional interests include airline operations, aviation strategy, organizational leadership, project management, crisis management, emergency operations, and supply chain management.

His scholarly interests focus on airline operations, aviation management, customer experience, strategic leadership, and crisis management. His doctoral research examined airline passengers’ willingness to pay for enhanced customer service, reflecting his interest in advancing operational performance through leadership, resilience, and service excellence.

Dr. Torres is committed to connecting academic theory with industry practice through experiential learning, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision-making. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he is dedicated to preparing future aviation leaders to navigate complex operational challenges and succeed in a dynamic global industry.
