Computational Problem-Solving Laboratory

Students learn structured problem-solving through programming, modeling and microcontroller applications. The lab builds computational thinking skills used across all engineering disciplines.

The Computational Problem-Solving Lab is where new engineering students are first introduced to structured problem solving using today's omnipresent computers.

Our future leaders become thoroughly versed in the practicum of writing instructions to control the computers and microcontrollers that govern everyday life, while simultaneously framing a model of understanding that they will apply to solve theoretical and practical problems in all disciplines.

Faculty research projects have ranged from the relationship between timed and untimed performance on an introductory programming exam to the computer programming of Arduino microcontrollers.
