The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) within the Global Security and Intelligence Studies (GSIS) program is a specialized instructional and research lab facility designed to support coursework, training and research in the field of intelligence, global security and language learning. The lab is equipped with professional security equipment, specialized software and multimedia hardware. The GSOC design is a flexible space used for crisis management and other practical exercises with hands-on equipment such as fixed and pan-tilt-zoom security video cameras that students can interact with to learn how video surveillance systems work. The lab also features a GeoChron world display, which is used to track and analyze global events, supply chains and critical infrastructure in real-time.
The GSOC serves as a controlled environment to simulate real-world activities, including intelligence analysis exercises, open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and language immersion. It also functions as the operational base for Eagle Eye Intelligence, a student-driven publication that conducts and disseminates intelligence analysis using open-source methods.
