Materials Testing Laboratory

Focused primarily on the micro side of structural mechanics, the Materials Testing Lab is the central location for students to participate in the preparation and testing of physical material specimens used in aerospace platforms. Students will use a variety of tools, including tensile-testing machines and fatigue-testing equipment.

Equipment

• SATEC 50 kip load frame with hydraulic grips
• United UTS 20 kip load frame with various testing fixtures
• Two MTS 810 hydraulic load frames for fatigue testing
• Rockwell hardness testers
