Power Laboratory

The Power Lab enables students to observe circuit theory applied to working circuits — often constructed by students. Practical examples are introduced, such as power-efficiency correction, driving motors, linear and switching power supplies, and power modulation. Lab experiments are coordinated with the lectures so students can experience the practical result of power circuits. Experiments start with power efficiency, continue through linear and switch mode power supplies, and touch on practical magnetics. Students learn to use industry-standard test equipment while drawing on their knowledge of circuits, control systems, and AC and DC circuit theory.
