Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University is stepping up its student support by promoting Dr. Jennah Perry to dean of Student Success and tapping Professor Brian Roggow as interim dean of the College of Aviation.

Perry’s mission will be to make sure every Eagle finds camaraderie and support on campus, while also gaining the skills and confidence to take flight after graduation.

“It’s clear to everyone that Dr. Perry truly cares about our students,” said Dr. Kenneth Witcher, chancellor of the Prescott Campus. “Her industry experience and academic leadership make her the ideal candidate to fill this role in helping our students find success.”

As Dean of Student Success, Perry will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the divisions of Dean of Students, Athletics, Academic Advising, and the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE). Her focus will prioritize advancing high-impact practices and student support that contribute to students’ overall academic achievement and success.

For Perry, stepping into the role of dean of Student Success is both an honor and an exciting opportunity.

“I’m looking forward to working with our dedicated faculty, staff and student leaders,” said Perry. “Together, I know we can find innovative ways to develop new programs and enhance existing practices that help all students thrive throughout their academic journeys.”

After she arrived at Embry‑Riddle in 2013 as an assistant professor of Air Traffic Management, Perry advanced to roles as associate professor and chair of Applied Aviation Sciences, all while earning her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from North Central University.

Perry also holds a Bachelor of Science in Air Traffic Management and a master’s degree in Aeronautical Science, with a focus on human factors in aviation systems and educational technology.

“As an Embry‑Riddle graduate, I know firsthand how transformative and impactful an Embry‑Riddle education can be,” said Perry. “I’m deeply committed to ensuring that every student has the support they need to succeed throughout their educational journey and well beyond graduation.”

Taking over Perry’s duties as interim dean for the College of Aviation is Brian Roggow, associate dean and department chair for Safety Science.

With an M.S. in Safety Science, a B.S. in Aeronautical Science and an A.A.S. in Administration of Justice, Roggow plans to build on Perry’s initiatives to sustain academic excellence and enhance student success within the college. Roggow is a proud Embry‑Riddle alum and has been employed at the Prescott Campus since 2005. Meanwhile, the university will launch a national search for a permanent replacement.

A commercial pilot and certified flight instructor, Roggow also serves as a designated FAA Safety Team Lead Representative and Administrative Pilot Examiner. He holds certifications as a Certified International Safety Manager (ISSP), HFACS professional and DOT Advanced Aviation Safety Officer.

These credentials highlight Roggow's commitment to continuing Embry‑Riddle’s robust safety culture.
