The HAMMER Lab develops cutting-edge diagnostics and measurement tools for high-speed wind tunnel applications. Focused on hypersonic applications, the HAMMER Lab matures optical techniques that are critical for gathering spatially and temporally resolved, non-intrusive measurements of aerothermodynamic phenomena in high-speed wind tunnels. The lab is equipped with optical tables, work benches, and computer workstations. Students are provided with an environment for maturing ideas, creating technical designs, and executing research topics.
The goals of this lab include:
- Mature optical measurement techniques for use in high-speed aerospace applications.
- Design and prototype hypersonic ground test facility concepts.
