As the only program of its kind, the Bachelor of Science in Aviation Psychology integrates psychology, safety science, human performance, organizational behavior, decision making and air traffic operations to examine how people think, work and perform across complex aviation systems.
Students will explore the roles of pilots, air traffic controllers, flight crews and industry teams, learning how human behavior shapes safety, efficiency and performance in aviation. Graduates will be prepared for pathways in human factors, air traffic operations, pilot and crew training, safety, workforce assessment, user experience and graduate study in psychology, human factors, industrial-organizational psychology or related fields.

Our flight program, air traffic control labs, flight simulators, ergonomics and safety labs and experiential learning opportunities immerse students in a community conducting the kinds of operations seen throughout the aviation industry, allowing you to build knowledge and experience as an undergraduate.

Degree Requirements Description
The Bachelor of Science in Aviation Psychology program requires successful completion of a minimum of 121 credit hours. The program may be completed in eight semesters, or four years, assuming appropriate background and full-time enrollment.
Students pursuing this undergraduate degree must earn a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 for all work completed at the University.
Students complete coursework in general education, mathematics and science, and psychological science. Completion of a minor is strongly recommended, but not required.
