What inspired you to join Embry-Riddle, and what has motivated you to stay throughout the years?
I began my journey at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as a coordinator in the Mail Center. After a few years, a pivotal opportunity arose to apply for a position in the Registrar's Office. This opportunity significantly altered the path of my career. I discovered my true calling in the Registrar's Office, where I have happily remained ever since.
What has been your favorite part of working at the university?
I am so proud to be part of the students' growth. Watching them arrive as freshmen at orientation and then witnessing their transformation as they walk across the stage at graduation four years later, and hearing their stories of success years later when they return to campus fills my heart with joy and inspiration. It's a privilege to be a part of their journey.
Can you describe a moment when you felt your work made a real difference at the university?
There have been countless moments when I felt my work made a real difference at the university. One of the most memorable experiences has been participating in the commencement ceremonies at the Daytona Beach Campus. It's always an emotional day for me, seeing the students as they prepare to walk into the Ocean Center, their excitement palpable as they get ready to close a significant chapter of their lives with us.
Additionally, there have been many other impactful moments over the years, such as Preview Days, Orientation and Housing Check-in. These events mark the beginning of the students' journey with us, and being part of their initial steps at Embry-Riddle is incredibly rewarding. Each of these experiences has reinforced the importance of my role and the positive influence I have on the university community.
What accomplishment at Embry-Riddle are you most proud of?
The accomplishment I am most proud of at Embry-Riddle is the positive impact I have on both students and staff. In my current role, I focus on generating meaningful dashboards and reports that are beneficial for faculty and staff. Additionally, I collaborate closely with the IT department to ensure that the forms and systems used by all students and staff are up-to-date and user-friendly.
What advice would you give to new employees starting their journey at Embry-Riddle?
There are so many opportunities to take advantage of here at Embry-Riddle that you would not have access to otherwise. Embry-Riddle offers a supportive environment where you can thrive and make the most of these exceptional opportunities.
